KILNmark Thermally Modified Hardwood

KILNmark is Whitetail Millwork’s line of thermally modified hardwood decking, cladding, and outdoor flooring. Thermal modification uses heat instead of chemicals to permanently change the wood’s cellular structure, producing a stable, rot-resistant, insect-resistant product without the chemicals used in pressure treatment.

Why Thermally Modified Hardwood

Chemical-Free — No pressure-treatment chemicals; modification is achieved entirely through controlled heat and steam.
Rot & Decay Resistant — The thermal process removes the sugars and moisture that fungi need to grow, extending outdoor service life.
Dimensionally Stable — Thermally modified wood absorbs less moisture, reducing cupping, warping, and swelling outdoors.
Consistent Color — A rich, even brown tone runs through the wood, not just the surface.
